Thank you for following our adventure to Africa in "KT" our Landrover Defender. We hope you enjoy reading of our travels in the diary pages and maybe we will inspire you to go overlanding. There have been some fantastic websites of other travellers on http://www.africa-overland.net/current.html that have been invaluable in our planning and preparation. A big thank you to all those who have done the trip before us.

For those of you who don't know us, we are Claire and Bill from Bristol. Claire is 31 and a GP and Bill is 34 and a physiotherapist. We love to travel and this trip has been a dream for 4 years. Bill has some overlanding experience, as he travelled with a friend Dave to Nepal in a 2CV in 1997. We also spent 4 months backpacking in South America in 1999.

We are looking forward to the variety of experiences Africa has to offer. The more we read about each country the more we want to see and do. Claire is keen on the wildlife and especially the mountain gorillas in Uganda and Bill is excited about the desert driving in the north of Africa. We're sure the list of must-sees will be extensive at the end of our trip.

We are planning to leave in early October, but last minute preparations may hold us up.
